Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor – High Rise Residential 📍 Birmingham City Centre 🏗 £70m RC Frame BTR Scheme 📅 Contract until Summer 2027 💰 £350 - £450 per day (DOE) We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a £50m high-rise Build-to-Rent development in Birmingham city centre. This is a major RC frame residential scheme and requires a commercially astute SQS who has previously operated as the lead surveyor on large-scale projects. 🔹 The Role * Commercial lead on a £50m RC frame BTR project * Full cost control and reporting responsibility * Procurement and management of subcontract packages * Valuations, variations and change management * Forecasting and CVR reporting * Managing client relationships and attending commercial meetings * Overseeing and supporting junior commercial staff (if applicable) * Managing the project through to final account 🔹 Requirements * Proven experience as lead SQS on projects £30m+ * Strong RC frame and high-rise residential experience * BTR or multi-room project background preferred * Confident managing full commercial lifecycle * Main contractor background essential * Available for long-term freelance commitment 🔹 The Opportunity * Long-term contract running through to Summer 2027 * High-profile Birmingham city centre scheme * Strong operational and commercial team in place * Competitive day rate (£350 – £450 depending on experience) If you’re a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven high-rise residential experience and looking for a long-term freelance role in the Midlands, get in touch with Heather Duncan to discuss further
