Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: South Manchester - Salary/Package: £65,000 - £80,000 + comprehensive package

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a site-based Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role on a £9 million industrial scheme in South Manchester. This is a key position on a flagship project, where you will work closely with the site and project teams to ensure effective cost control and commercial success from start to finish.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
Managing all commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final account
Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Procuring and managing subcontractor packages, including negotiations and contract administration
Monitoring project costs, identifying risks, and implementing cost control measures
Valuations, variations, and interim applications for payment
Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
Liaising with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Supporting the project team with commercial advice and value engineering opportunities
Managing final accounts and ensuring timely project close-out
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have:
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
Strong background delivering industrial and/or commercial construction projects
Experience working in a site-based role on projects of similar value (£5m-£15m)
Excellent knowledge of construction contracts (JCT preferred)
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
Ability to manage subcontractors and build strong working relationships
Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach
Relevant degree or professional qualification (or equivalent experience)
