Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Newton Abbot Permanent We’re working with a specialist marine & heavy civils contractor, delivering complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects, who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial team. This is a senior-level position with responsibility for the commercial, financial, and contractual performance of multiple high-value projects. You’ll play a key role in cost control, procurement strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, while also mentoring junior surveyors and contributing to wider commercial strategy. Key Responsibilities: * Take the commercial lead across multiple marine & civils infrastructure projects * Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and cash flow * Oversee contract administration, variations, claims, and final accounts * Identify commercial risks and opportunities, driving value engineering and cost efficiencies * Procurement strategies, negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers * Provide P&L reporting and financial performance updates to senior leadership * Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors About You * Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role * Strong background in marine infrastructure, civil engineering, or heavy construction * Excellent knowledge of contract administration and commercial risk management * Confident managing high-value contracts and complex negotiations * Strong leadership and mentoring capability * Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (professional accreditation desirable) * Comfortable travelling to sites as required What’s on Offer * Salary up to £75,000, plus bonus scheme and car /car allowance * Senior role with real influence across major marine projects * Long-term career opportunity within a growing specialist contractor * Exposure to complex, high-value infrastructure schemes * Supportive commercial team and leadership environment If you are interested in this role, please call Jo at Sphere Solutions for a confidential chat on (phone number removed).
