Senior Quantity Surveyor - Roofing Subcontractor Location: Dartford Sector: Roofing Subcontractor Industry: Building and construction Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum Our client is a well-established roofing subcontractor based in Dartford, delivering specialist packages across commercial and residential projects throughout the South East. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a key position within the business, offering autonomy and responsibility across multiple live projects. The Role The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for roofing packages from procurement through to final account, ensuring profitability and contractual compliance across all projects. You will work closely with operational teams, directors and main contractor clients to manage financial performance and mitigate commercial risk. Key Responsibilities Full commercial management of roofing subcontract packages Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment Managing variations, change control and contractual notices Subcontractor and supplier procurement Cost forecasting and CVR reporting Managing and negotiating final accounts Liaising with main contractor commercial teams Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required Requirements Proven experience working for a subcontractor (essential) Senior-level Quantity Surveying experience Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge Experience within roofing packages advantageous Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced subcontractor QS to step into a senior role within a growing and financially stable roofing specialist
