Senior Structural Engineer Location: Essex Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + monthly bonus Hours: Full-time, with half day on Fridays The Opportunity We are currently working in partnership with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Essex, who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to support their continued growth across a predominantly residential project portfolio. This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading design delivery, and acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams. The Role Lead the structural design and delivery of residential projects, including new builds, extensions, and refurbishments Manage projects from concept through to construction Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and design information Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities Attend design meetings and site visits as required Ensure designs comply with current UK standards, building regulations, and best practice Contribute to the continued development of internal processes and technical standards About You Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) Significant experience working on UK residential structural projects Strong technical knowledge of UK design codes and building regulations Comfortable managing multiple projects and client relationships Experience mentoring or managing junior staff Proficient in relevant structural analysis and design software Chartered or near-Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE) preferred What’s on Offer Competitive salary, dependent on experience Monthly performance-related bonus Half day on Fridays Supportive and collaborative working environment Varied and stable residential project pipeline Clear progression and long-term career opportunities Office-based role in Essex with predominantly local projects
