Senior Structures Design Engineer Ashford, Kent Up to £55,000 (Higher if Chartered) + Benefits An established and respected Structural Engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Structures Design Engineer to join their Ashford office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer looking to take ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering high-quality building structures schemes across a varied portfolio. The Role You will lead and manage a wide range of building structures projects from concept through to completion. The role requires strong technical capability, commercial awareness and confidence in dealing directly with clients. Key responsibilities: • Leading structural design on a variety of building projects • Running your own projects independently • Liaising directly with clients, architects and external consultants • Managing project delivery to programme and budget • Monitoring and controlling internal project costs • Providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians • Designing in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry Requirements • Chartered (CEng MIStructE/MICE) or working towards Chartership • Strong experience in building structures design • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects independently • Experience designing in multiple materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) • Strong client-facing and communication skills • Commercial awareness with budget management experience • Proficient in relevant structural design software Salary & Benefits • Up to £55,000 if not Chartered • Higher salary available for Chartered Engineers • Pension contribution • Flexible working arrangements • Payment of professional subscriptions • Clear progression opportunities This role would suit an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer seeking greater responsibility, client exposure and long-term progression within a well-established consultancy.
