Senior Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our children’s residential service in Rotherham, supporting a female young person in a nurturing, structured environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, providing high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, emotional wellbeing and positive development. You will work closely with families and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the young person.
The role involves a combination of hands-on support and administrative responsibilities, requiring strong communication skills, resilience and a proactive approach.
This is a female-only role due to the specific needs of the young person.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the young person with daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence
* Develop and implement tailored care plans to meet individual needs
* Provide support during educational, recreational, and social activities
* Transport the young person to school, appointments, and activities as required
* Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily logs in line with organisational policies
* Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
* Contribute to a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment
* Utilise IT systems for documentation, reporting, and communication
* Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of the young person at all times
Requirements
* Minimum age of 22 years (in line with Ofsted regulations)
* NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
* At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare supporting young people
* Full UK manual driving licence
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
