Service Manager – Family Support & Child Protection Team London Borough of Lambeth are looking to expand their current service with a dedicated Service Manager seeking an opportunity to lead within a well-structured and organised Family Support and Child Protection Team. This Service Manager role will be for an initial 3–6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstances and performance. Service Manager – Family Support & Child Protection Team responsibilities include: To provide strategic and operational leadership across the Family Support and Child Protection service, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice at all times. • To oversee service delivery, ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met and that safeguarding standards are consistently achieved and maintained. • To manage and support Team Managers, ensuring effective oversight of caseloads, performance, and quality of practice across the service. • To ensure workloads are appropriately allocated and balanced, promoting best use of team skills while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. • To lead on performance management, service development, and continuous improvement, implementing changes where necessary to enhance outcomes. • To ensure robust supervision and management oversight frameworks are in place, supporting staff development and maintaining practice standards. • To work collaboratively with partner agencies, ensuring effective multi-agency safeguarding and early intervention approaches. • To contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and inspection readiness across Children’s Services. • To chair key meetings, including strategy discussions and service reviews, ensuring effective decision-making and accountability.
