Shift Engineer
Electrical Shift Engineer City of London £50,000 – £55,000 + HV Training Provided An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join a leading building services provider on a high-profile critical site in the City of London. Working with a well-established and highly reputable company, this position offers the chance to be part of a professional and experienced maintenance team while benefiting from specialist HV training, ongoing development, and genuine career progression opportunities. This role will involve both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, as well as remedial works and emergency response across the site. The successful engineer will work on a continental shift pattern (days and nights) and should be electrically biased, hold City & Guilds or NVQ electrical qualifications, and have at least three years’ experience within the building services maintenance sector. Key Responsibilities Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance Single and three-phase power systems Motors and generators (on/off load testing) UPS systems LV/HV switching Planned shutdowns Emergency lighting maintenance Fire alarm testing AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and CRAC units Sprinkler systems and pumps BMS operation and monitoring Organising and supervising subcontractors Raising quotations for remedial works Ensuring health & safety compliance Maintaining logbooks and documentation Completing risk assessments Issuing and managing permits to work Requirements City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations Electrically biased maintenance background Minimum 3 years’ experience in building services maintenance Career-driven and motivated Professional, reliable, and personable Salary & Benefits £50,000 – £55,000 per annum HV training provided Continental shift pattern (days & nights) 20 days holiday Pension package Significant overtime opportunities available Ongoing training and development Excellent internal progression opportunities To join a highly reputable building services provider on one of their flagship City of London contracts, apply now with your updated CV and contact details
