Shift Manager + £40,500 - £43k + Food Production + 33 days inc BH + Fixed 6am-2pm Shift Tuesday - Saturday

We are recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business in the Manchester area. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven production leader to take ownership of a manufacturing shift, driving performance across safety, quality, people, cost, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will lead and develop a team within a fast-paced food production environment, ensuring targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, health & safety, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to deliver operational targets.

* Drive a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

* Ensure products are manufactured in line with food safety, quality, and customer standards.

* Manage labour, raw materials, packaging, and waste to achieve budgeted performance.

* Monitor and improve KPIs relating to efficiency, productivity, waste, quality, and attendance.

* Conduct regular team briefings, performance reviews, and one-to-one meetings.

* Support training, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.

* Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance operational performance.

* Ensure GMP, hygiene, housekeeping, and compliance standards are maintained at all times.

* Deliver effective shift handovers and maintain accurate production records.

* Work collaboratively with engineering, technical, planning, and other support functions to achieve business objectives.

Candidate Requirements

* Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role within food manufacturing.

* Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, GMP, and health & safety requirements.

* Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

* Track record of driving operational improvements and delivering measurable results.

* Strong people management, coaching, and communication skills.

* Ability to analyse operational data and use KPIs to drive performance.

* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP.

* Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

* Flexible approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
