Transport Team Manager - Coventry 4 on 4 off (Rotating Days & Nights: 06:00–18:00 / 18:00–06:00) £40,817.46 + Shift Allowance Nter Talent are proud to be partnering with a leading UK logistics provider to recruit a Transport Team Manager for their Coventry depot, supporting a major blue-chip client, Starbucks. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transport professional with strong HGV knowledge and leadership capability to step into a high-impact role within a fast-paced, temperature-controlled operation. The Opportunity As Transport Team Manager, you’ll take full operational responsibility for the daily transport function, ensuring the safe, compliant and cost-effective delivery of fresh, ambient and frozen products. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage drivers and coordinators, drive performance, ensure full compliance, and continuously optimise fleet and resource utilisation. Key Responsibilities * Oversee daily transport operations within a temperature-controlled environment * Manage a fleet of HGV vehicles across multi-drop delivery routes * Ensure full compliance with: * Operator Licence requirements * Drivers’ Hours & Working Time Directive * Tachograph regulations * Monitor and control operational costs and fleet expenditure * Deliver high service levels aligned to agreed SLAs * Manage end-to-end delivery performance, KPIs and reporting * Conduct performance reviews and manage driver engagement * Lead HR processes including disciplinaries, grievances and absence reviews * Investigate vehicle accidents and incidents in line with company policy * Drive a strong health & safety culture across the depot About You * We are looking for a confident and credible Transport leader who can balance operational control with strong people management. You will have: * Proven experience managing transport operations (ideally temperature-controlled) * Strong understanding of multi-drop planning * Solid HGV and fleet management knowledge * Experience managing compliance within a regulated transport environment * Previous people management experience (drivers essential) * Confidence managing challenging conversations and HR processes * Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) * Strong reporting and performance analysis capability * Ability to perform under pressure within a 24/7 operation What’s On Offer £40,817.46 basic salary £3,000 shift allowance (rotating days & nights) Market-leading pension scheme (increasing with service) Life Assurance (4x basic salary) Retail discounts (up to 20% UK-wide) Employee Assistance Programme Free on-site parking Ongoing training and clear progression opportunities Why Apply?
