Shop Assistant
Job Purpose We are seeking a friendly and reliable Shop Assistant to deliver excellent customer service within a busy accessories and leisure retail environment. You will support customers in selecting and purchasing caravan and motorhome products while helping to maintain high shop standards, manage stock, and assist wider teams to ensure a smooth customer experience. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Greet and assist customers in a professional and approachable manner Offer knowledgeable advice on accessories and leisure products Understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions Handle customer queries, returns, and basic complaints efficiently Sales & Retail Operations Process transactions accurately using a till/POS system Promote products and upsell where appropriate Support in-store promotions, seasonal displays, and offers Stay up to date with product ranges and new stock Stock Control Receive, check, and book in deliveries Replenish shelves and maintain organised stock areas Assist with stock takes and inventory management Report low stock levels and discrepancies Shop Presentation Ensure the shop floor is clean, tidy, and well presented Maintain clear pricing and accurate product labelling Create attractive displays to support sales Team Support Work collaboratively with internal teams to supply parts and accessories Assist with preparing customer orders and collections Provide general support across the business during busy periods Skills & Experience Essential * Previous retail or customer-facing experience * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively within a team * Good organisational skills and attention to detail * Basic IT skills Desirable * Knowledge of caravanning, motorhomes, or leisure products * Experience in a parts or accessories environment * Interest in camping, touring, or outdoor activities Personal Attributes * Friendly, approachable, and professional manner * Proactive with a willingness to learn * Reliable with a strong work ethic * Able to work in a fast-paced environment * Positive, can-do attitude Working Hours 5 days per week, including Saturdays on a rota basis Flexibility required during peak trading periods Additional Information Manual handling may be required (e.g. lifting and moving stock) Full product training will be provided If you are interested or have the relevant experience and are currently looking for a new challenge then please submit an up to date CV by clicking the ‘apply’ button.
