Shuttering Carpenter – Rail Civils / New Station Build

We are currently recruiting experienced Shuttering Carpenters for a major new station build project within a live rail and civils environment. Works involve complex reinforced concrete structures and heavy civils packages.

Duties will include:

* Constructing and erecting formwork for:

* Lift pits

* Retaining walls

* Reinforced concrete bases

* LB beams

* Pre-cast concrete units

* Platform and structural civils works

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

* Setting out and assembling shutters accurately to required tolerances

* Working alongside steel fixers and concrete teams during pours

* Striking formwork safely and carrying out remedial works where required

* Ensuring all works comply with quality and health & safety standards

* Working within rail possession and civils delivery environments

Requirements:

* Blue or Gold CSCS Card

* Proven experience on RC and heavy civils projects

* Experience with retaining walls, lift shafts/pits and structural concrete works

* Ability to read technical drawings

* PTS preferred (if working rail access areas)

* Good understanding of safe systems of work
