The Company We’re partnering with a well-established regional civil engineering contractor operating across Devon and Somerset, delivering technically demanding infrastructure projects valued between £5m and £40m. This is a business with deep regional roots and a strong forward workload, specialising in: Major highways schemes Bridges and structural works Section 278 packages Infrastructure upgrades Road realignments and junction improvements They have built their reputation on safe delivery, technical excellence and repeat business from long-standing clients. With a healthy secured pipeline, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to join their Exeter team. The Role As Site Agent, you’ll take ownership of site operations on live civil engineering projects, leading delivery teams and acting as the primary link between client, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. You will be accountable for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and commercial objectives. Key responsibilities include: Leading client and progress meetings Coordinating and managing subcontractors Supervising and directing site teams Driving short-term planning and look-ahead programming Preparing and reviewing RAMS Interpreting drawings and specifications Overseeing quality assurance and health & safety standards Ensuring compliance with contractual and company procedures This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisation and clear communication. The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for a capable and driven Site Agent with a solid civil engineering background who brings: Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) Experience with a civil engineering main contractor Proven track record delivering highways, infrastructure or structural schemes Strong commercial awareness Confident leadership and team management skills An engineering-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and safety What’s In It For You?
