Site Engineer
Job Title: Site Engineer – BB Multi Utilities Location: Leamington – HS2 Project Contract: 3 Months PAYE, 45 hours per week Randstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Balfour Beatty for an experienced Site Engineer – Multi Utilities to join the team on the prestigious High Speed 2 (HS2) project in Coventry. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a Tier One contractor environment on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, playing a key role in the accurate delivery of civil engineering and multi-utility works — with a strong emphasis on technical setting out excellence. Key Responsibilities * Carry out precise and accurate setting out for civil engineering and utility works using modern surveying equipment. * Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and required tolerances. * Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and highway standards. * Conduct quality assurance checks, inspections, and maintain detailed documentation. * Produce and maintain accurate as-built surveys and site records. * Coordinate works around multi-utility installations (gas, water, power, communications). * Liaise effectively with site management, subcontractors, designers, and client representatives. * Support programme delivery through proactive planning and sequencing of works. * Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. * Mentor and support BBMU apprentices and graduate engineers where required Candidate Profile Essential: * Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects (Tier One contractor experience preferred). * High-level competence in setting out, including use of: * GPS survey equipment * Pipe Laser * Proven experience in highway drainage and foul drainage installation. * Strong understanding of highway specifications and technical standards. * Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. * Valid CSCS Card. * Strong attention to detail with a proactive, professional approach to safety and quality. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Desirable: * Experience coordinating multi-utility installations (gas, water, power, communications). * HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. * SMSTS or SSSTS certification. * Experience mentoring junior engineers
