Site Engineer - Mechanical (Fire Fighting & Plumbing)

Dubai, UAE

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience

4 to 6 years of experience in mechanical site execution for commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
GCC / UAE site experience is preferred.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems installation.

Computer Software Proficiency

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing mechanical drawings.
Familiarity with project documentation tools is an advantage.

Registrations / Certifications

UAE Society of Engineers (SOE) Membership.
Basic HSE training certification (advantage).
Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures (preferable).
UAE driving license (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor installation of firefighting and plumbing systems as per approved shop drawings, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.
Manage daily site activities including manpower allocation, work sequencing, and progress monitoring.
Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals prior to execution.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site coordination issues.
Supervise installation of sprinkler systems, hose reels, pumps, water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, and associated piping systems.
Ensure all works comply with DCD, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, project specifications, and applicable standards such as NFPA and BS standards.
Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and specifications.
Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections, testing, and consultant approvals.
Prepare Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and progress reports.
Supervise testing and commissioning activities including hydrostatic testing, flushing, and functional testing.
Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs when required.
Monitor site productivity and ensure activities are completed within planned schedules.
Ensure implementation of quality procedures and HSE requirements at site.
Review as-built drawings and maintain records of site activities and project documentation.
Report progress, technical issues, and resource requirements to the Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer.
