Site Lead Engineer - High‑End Commercial Site Location: London Hours: Full time | Significant overtime available Type: Permanent Role Overview We are recruiting a Site Lead Engineer to take full ownership of a prestigious, high‑end commercial site. This is a single‑engineer site, offering strong autonomy, responsibility and regular overtime. You will act as the technical lead on site, managing day‑to‑day operations, contractors, and all planned and reactive works, including major shutdowns. This role suits an experienced engineer ready to step into a leadership position while remaining hands‑on. Key Responsibilities Act as the lead engineer and primary point of contact for the site Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across building services Plan, manage and oversee contractors, ensuring compliance and quality Lead and coordinate plant shutdowns, isolations and critical works Own site PPMs, compliance, permits to work and RAMS Ensure all works meet H&S, statutory and client standards Liaise directly with the client, providing a high‑level service experience Identify improvement opportunities and manage remedial works Maintain accurate site documentation and reports Participate in call‑out and overtime, with strong earning potential Essential Experience & Skills Strong background in commercial building services engineering Confident working as a lone engineer / site lead Proven experience managing contractors and specialist suppliers Experience planning and delivering shutdowns and critical works Solid understanding of health & safety, compliance and permit systems Excellent communication and client‑facing skills Flexible approach to overtime and out‑of‑hours works Qualifications (Essential / Desirable) Relevant engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical bias) 18th Edition (if electrically biased) - desirable IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent H&S training - desirable AP / HV experience - advantageous but not essential What's on Offer High‑profile, premium client site Single‑engineer autonomy with real ownership Regular overtime and shutdown works Clear opportunity to develop into senior or contract management roles Support from a wider engineering and FM structure
