Site Manager / Foreman - Groundworks

Job Title: Groundworks Foreman / Site Manager Location: Winchester, Hampshire Job Type: Freelance (Temp to Perm) Rate: Competitive Day Rate (Negotiable DOE) The Role We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Foreman / Site Manager for an immediate start on a project based in Winchester. This position is offered on a freelance basis with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent role for the right candidate, working with a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor. Responsibilities * Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations * Supervise groundworks teams and plant operators * Ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and to specification * Coordinate site labour, materials, and plant requirements * Maintain health & safety standards, site documentation, and RAMS * Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings * Liaise with clients, engineers, and senior management * Monitor quality control across drainage, foundations, externals, and infrastructure works Requirements * Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Site Manager * Strong background in drainage, foundations, roads, and external works * Valid SMSTS or SSSTS * CSCS Card (Gold or Black preferred) * First Aid at Work (preferred) * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Strong leadership and organisational skills * Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer * Competitive freelance day rate * Immediate start available * Long-term work with a strong pipeline of projects * Opportunity to secure a permanent position * Supportive and established contractor Apply now with your CV or contact us for more information
