Freelance Site Manager – Industrial Roofing Project Location: On-site in Sheffield Contract Type: Freelance Project Value: £400,000 Duration: 12 Weeks  Start: Monday 16th March 2026 Certifications Required: SMSTS, First Aid Role Overview We’re seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a 12‑week industrial roofing project valued at approximately £400K. This role requires a confident leader with a strong understanding of roofing operations, site safety, subcontractor coordination, and client communication. You’ll be the primary on-site representative, ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and quality expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safe and efficient working practices Manage subcontractors, labour, and material deliveries Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and company procedures Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections Monitor progress against programme and escalate issues where required Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers to maintain smooth communication Oversee quality control and ensure works meet specification and industry standards Manage site logistics, access, and housekeeping Ensure all RAMS are reviewed, understood, and implemented on site  Required Qualifications & Experience SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – essential First Aid at Work – essential Proven experience managing industrial roofing or similar construction projects Strong understanding of H&S legislation and CDM requirements Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills Ability to maintain high standards of documentation and reporting Competent in coordinating multiple trades and managing tight programmes Contract Details Duration: 12 weeks Project Value: £400K Engagement: Freelance / Self‑Employed £240 a day Hours: 07.00am-4.30pm
