Site Agent / Site Manager

North & West London / Hertfordshire

Are you an experienced Site Agent or Site Manager with a strong civil engineering background looking for a role offering a varied portfolio of projects rather than being tied to one site or scheme?

This is an opportunity to join an established Tier 1 civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a strong pipeline of work across North London, West London and Hertfordshire. You will work across a variety of civils and water projects, providing exposure to different schemes, environments and technical challenges.

The business operates a direct-delivery model and has significant in-house engineering and delivery capability, with specialist expertise spanning civil engineering, tunnelling, MEICA and design. Alongside the project exposure, there is a strong focus on developing and retaining people, with internal progression, leadership development, coaching and ongoing technical training forming part of the wider career proposition.

The Role

As Site Agent / Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across the region, working closely with Project and Contracts Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and site teams.

You will have ownership of safe and effective site delivery, programme, quality and commercial performance, while maintaining strong relationships with the client and wider project stakeholders. The position will involve managing project programmes and short-term lookaheads, ensuring appropriate resources and procurement are in place, overseeing project plans, RAMS and ITPs, and maintaining control of cost, value and project reporting.

Depending on the scheme, you may also lead Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen as part of the delivery team.

About You

You will need:

Previous experience working as a Site Agent or Site Manager for a civil engineering contractor

Experience delivering projects within a highly regulated environment

Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Good understanding of contract conditions, CDM, programme and risk management and cost control

Strong knowledge of general civil engineering specifications and testing regimes

CSCS

IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS

Temporary Works Coordinator

Confined Space training

Strong communication, leadership and team management skills

Ability to challenge designs, resolve problems and take ownership through to conclusion

Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract, Primavera P6 and CEng MICE or equivalent are desirable.

Salary & Package

£60,000–£65,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive package including:
