Job Title: Site Operative
Location: Dudley, West Midlands (On-site)
Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour + night premium + overtime
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative to join a busy, hands-on waste processing and materials handling operation in Dudley. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, operating equipment, and being part of a safety-focused team environment.

You’ll be working across inspection bays, storage areas, and bulking operations, supporting the safe and compliant handling of incoming and outgoing waste materials.

Key Responsibilities

Materials Handling & Operations

* Unload and move palletised incoming waste for inspection

* Operate counterbalance forklift truck safely under site P.A.S.S. procedures

* Carry out pre-use FLT checks and PUWER safety inspections

* Assist Chemists during waste inspections (e.g. removing lids, re-stacking pallets)

* Sort, segregate, and store inspected waste safely and compliantly

* Repalletise and prepare materials for safe storage or transport

* Prepare outgoing loads and load vehicles, including hook loaders

Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

Follow all HSG71, COSHH, manual handling, LOLER, and RIDDOR requirements

Maintain high housekeeping standards (sweeping, litter picking, drum crushing)

Ensure safe storage and segregation of waste materials

Promote a strong safety culture, including reporting near misses

Complete batch sheets and documentation for traceability

Requirements

Essential

* Valid Counterbalance FLT licence

* Reliable, safety-focused approach to work

* Willingness to work outdoors and in a physically active role

Desirable

* Previous experience in waste, recycling, or warehousing

* Understanding of health & safety procedures (COSHH, manual handling, etc.)

Additional Information

* This is a physical, hands-on role involving outdoor work

* Overtime available:

* Weekdays: x1.25

* Saturdays: x1.5
