Site Supervisor
The successful candidate will have hands-on joinery experience, excellent site management skills, and the ability to coordinate trades, maintain quality standards, and ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently. A professional, client-facing approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise day-to-day site operations across multiple refurbishment and fit-out projects.
* Oversee joinery installations and finishing works, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
* Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour, managing workflow and productivity.
* Monitor project progress and ensure works are delivered to programme.
* Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
* Carry out site inductions, inspections, and toolbox talks.
* Manage site documentation, permits, reports, and records.
* Liaise professionally with the client, university representatives, and project stakeholders.
* Ensure excellent standards of housekeeping, site presentation, and quality control.
* Identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain project momentum.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Supervisor on refurbishment, fit-out, or small works projects.
* Strong trade background in joinery/carpentry, with a thorough understanding of internal fit-out and finishing works.
* Experience delivering classroom, bathroom, office, or similar refurbishment projects.
* Previous experience working within live environments.
* Ability to coordinate multiple trades and manage competing priorities.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Professional client-facing approach.
Qualifications & Certifications
* SMSTS
* First Aid at Work
* Valid CSCS Card
* Full UK Driving Licence and own transport
Additional Training Requirements
Candidates must hold or be willing to complete:
* Asbestos Awareness (UKATA)
* Manual Handling
* Working at Height
