We’re recruiting a Social Worker to join the Assessment & Safeguarding Team in Darlington, offering a varied caseload and the chance to work in a small, well-connected local authority.

🧩 The Role
You’ll support children and families from referral through to intervention, managing a diverse caseload across the full safeguarding pathway.
This is a frontline, varied role ideal for Social Workers who enjoy working across different stages of intervention.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
* Complete Child & Family Assessments
* Manage cases across:
* Child in Need (CIN)
* Child Protection (CP)
* Children in Care
* Public & private law proceedings
* Build strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
* Work within a relational practice framework
* Collaborate with integrated support services to improve outcomes
* Maintain accurate and high-quality case records
✅ What we’re looking for
* Qualified Social Worker
* Experience within Children’s Safeguarding / Assessment teams
* Confident managing a varied caseload
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment
