Social Worker – Assessment Team

Pay Rate: £40 per hour

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Locum

About the Role

Staffordshire County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Assessment Team.

You will work with children and families at the front door of services, undertaking assessments and responding to safeguarding concerns to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will complete assessments, identify risks, and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

Complete Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.

Undertake duty responsibilities and respond to new referrals.

Assess risk and develop effective safety plans.

Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases where required.

Work collaboratively with education, health, police, and partner agencies.

Undertake direct work with children and families.

Maintain accurate case records and prepare high-quality reports.
