Sociology Teacher

Sociology Lecturer – FE College We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Further Education College in Andover for a Temporary Sociology Lecturer to cover a period of sickness absence. The role is expected to start towards the end of March for a short handover period, before returning after the Easter break (from 13 April 2026) and continuing until approximately the end of May or mid/end of June. Role Responsibilities: * Deliver engaging Sociology lessons to FE students * Plan and prepare teaching materials in line with the curriculum * Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback * Support learners to achieve positive academic outcomes * Work collaboratively with the department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning Requirements: * Experience teaching Sociology within an FE College or Sixth Form environment * Relevant degree in Sociology or related subject * Teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / DTLLS) or equivalent * Strong classroom management and communication skills * Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain Contract Details: * Temporary role covering sickness absence * Handover period late March * Full teaching from 13 April 2026 * Expected to run until end of May – mid/end of June This is a great opportunity to join a supportive FE College environment and make a positive impact on learners during a key period of the academic year.
