Apply NowOur client is seeking an experienced Solar PV Technical Manager to lead the technical design and delivery of their solar projects. This is a key leadership role, ensuring all installations meet the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the technical design and engineering of solar PV systems for commercial, and utility-scale projects.
* Conduct site audits, generate QC reports & snagging punch lists for installation teams.
* Experience of interpreting EPC contracts & specifications, ability to convert into electrical schematics, drawings and sub-contract work specifications.
* Author technical information for tender submissions. Create bill of quantities, rate cards and schematics from chosen design.
* Competent in cable sizing and AC network calculations.
* Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance analysis.
* Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
* Develop and maintain technical & handover documentation, including drawings, test certificates, compliance reports, and risk assessments.
* Assume Technical Nominee role for Electrical CPS scheme.
* Manage and mentor engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, standards, and best practices in solar PV.
Requirements
* Higher qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
* Proven experience in solar PV design, installation, and commissioning.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, grid connection requirements, and relevant regulations.
* City and Guilds 2391 inspection and testing qualification.
* CSCS electrical supervisor/manager card.
* Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PV*Syst, AutoCAD) and MS Office.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
*City and Guilds 2396 Design qualification is desirable.
