The Role
Our client a Busy Cafe Style Kitchen in Hook is lokoing currently for a 2nd chef/ experienced CDP
The café is the tasting plate for the adjacent farm shop, showcasing the best of what they sell — and what's in season.
This is a hands‑on role for an experienced chef who enjoys working at pace, leading by example, and cooking with high‑quality ingredients sourced directly from the farm shop and trusted suppliers.
Responsibilities
As Sous Chef, you'll:
Support the Head Chef in running a busy café kitchen
Lead service in a high‑volume, daytime environment
Use farm shop ingredients to create fresh, seasonal dishes
Have input into menu planning, specials, and development
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene
Help train and motivate the kitchen team This is a practical, front‑line role — ideal for a strong Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Reuirements
As Sous Chef You Will have:
Experience working as a Sous Chef or senior chef in a busy kitchen
Strong organisational skills and calmness under pressure
A genuine passion for food and ingredients
Someone who enjoys teamwork and takes pride in delivering great service The Benefits
Closed at Christmas (minimum 3 days) and Easter (2 days)
