Special Needs Teaching Assistant

1:1 Teaching Assistant (Reception - ASD Support) Location: Notting Hill, London Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in our Reception class from January. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference at a crucial early stage of a child's learning and development, within a nurturing and supportive school environment in the heart of Notting Hill. The Role: Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with ASD Support learning, communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions Encourage independence while ensuring the child feels safe, supported, and included Support with routines, transitions, and play-based learning activities The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children with ASD or additional needs (school or nursery setting preferred) A calm, patient, and empathetic approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting young children's development Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are desirable but not essential We Offer: A welcoming and inclusive school community Supportive leadership and ongoing guidance The opportunity to make a real impact in a child's early education If you are committed, compassionate, and excited about supporting a young child with ASD to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
