New Opportunity - Experienced Structural Design Engineer   We are seeking a talented and motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our client's growing engineering team. You will be responsible for the analysis and design of industrial steel structures, with a particular focus on connection and seismic design.   This is a fantastic opportunity to work across renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, and industrial energy projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.   You will apply your expertise in design code calculations (ASCE 7, Eurocode 3) to deliver robust, compliant, and practical solutions, supporting both internal teams and external clients.   As the new Structural Design Engineer, you will: Perform structural analysis and design of steel frame, braced, and portal-frame structures for energy-related facilities (e.g., process plants, gas-turbine installations, modular structures) Carry out connection design, foundation design, and seismic analysis using first principles and recognised software Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards (Eurocodes, ASCE 7, AISC, API) Review and interpret client specifications, drawings, and requirements Prepare and review drawings, 3D models, and documentation in collaboration with CAD/drafting teams Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders Contribute to R&D, best practices, and continuous improvement within the design team Key requirements for this role: Degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (minimum 2:1) 3+ years of structural design experience (6+ years for Senior roles) Strong experience with steel frame analysis, connection design, and seismic considerations Proficiency with structural analysis software (Autodesk Robot, ETABS, STAAD Pro, TEKLA) Experience with mathematical calculations using Microsoft Excel, Mathcad, or similar Solid understanding of steel structures, structural detailing, and CDM regulations Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Desirable Skills and Experience: Chartered status or working towards ICE/IStructE chartership Experience designing fabricated steel shell structures Familiarity with FEA, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, IDEA StatiCa Understanding of manufacturing techniques and modular construction components About you: Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to quality and safety Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Willing to travel internationally and work out of hours if required Full UK driving licence and current UK residency About this role: Competitive salary with performance bonuses Sponsorship support for eligible candidates Collaborative and supportive work environment Career development and training opportunities Exposure to innovative energy projects You'll play a key role in delivering energy projects that contribute to a sustainable future!   How to Apply: If you're ready to take your structural engineering career to the next level, we'd love to hear from you!
