Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to support an individual with cerebral palsy in a home-based setting. This role focuses on promoting independence and quality of life through personalised, person-centred support.
Working Hours (Part-Time)
This role follows a 4-week rolling rota:
Week 1 (20 hours):
* Thursday: 9:00am – 4:00pm (7 hours)
* Saturday: 3:00pm – 10:00pm (7 hours)
* Sunday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm (6 hours)
Week 2 (21 hours):
* Thursday: 9:00am – 9:00pm (12 hours)
* Sunday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm (9 hours)
Week 3 (23 hours):
* Wednesday: 3:00pm – 10:00pm (7 hours)
* Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm (7 hours)
* Saturday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm (9 hours)
Week 4 (20 hours):
* Thursday: 12:00pm – 10:00pm (10 hours)
* Saturday: 12:00pm – 10:00pm (10 hours)
Total Monthly Hours: 84 hours
The successful candidate will work closely with the individual, their family, and a multidisciplinary team to support therapy goals, daily living, and wellbeing.
Support Worker - Key Responsibilities
Support with mobility, positioning, and daily routines in line with care plans. Assist with physiotherapy exercises and encourage participation in everyday activities. Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
Offer emotional support and companionship, helping to build confidence. Monitor and record any changes, maintain clear documentation, and support communication with family and professionals. You may also assist with light household tasks, meal preparation, and attending appointments or social activities.
Support Worker - Requirements
A valid UK driving licence is required. Previous experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential.
You should have good communication and IT skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. A patient, reliable, and respectful approach is essential.
