Surface Mount Technician (SMT) / Electronics Assembly Operator Location: Eastbourne Hours: 37 hours per week Pay: £14.81ph Shifts Available: Early Shift or Night Shift We are currently recruiting Surface Mount Technicians and Electronics Assembly Operators for a leading global manufacturer based in Eastbourne. Due to increased demand, the business requires multiple operators to support production. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, market-leading electronics manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and advanced manufacturing facilities. The Role You will be working within a busy electronics manufacturing environment supporting production and assembly operations. Responsibilities include: * Operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines on a busy production line * Loading feeders with reels, sticks and trays * Electronic assembly and production line work * Hand soldering of electronic components (IPC Level 2 desirable) * Visual inspection and quality checking of components and soldered connections * Ensuring finished products meet required quality and manufacturing standards Requirements * Previous experience as a Surface Mount Technician or Electronics Assembly Operator * Experience operating SMT machines (programming not required) * Soldering experience preferred (IPC Level 2 beneficial but not essential) * Experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment * Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting Shift Patterns (37 Hours per Week) Early Shift * Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:15 * Friday: 06:00 – 12:00 * Pay: Hourly rate + 4% shift allowance Night Shift * Monday – Thursday: 22:00 – 06:15 * Friday: 17:30 – 23:30 * Pay: Hourly rate + 33% shift allowance Additional Information * Multiple positions available * Start dates within the next 2–3 weeks * Interviews available immediately This is a great opportunity to join a modern manufacturing environment with a strong team culture and the chance to contribute to a high-volume production programme
