System/Project Engineer
We are currently recruiting for a Systems / Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on complex technical programms within highly regulated sectors. This is a long-term opportunity to work on a major defence-related naval project, expected to run for the next 3–5 years, supporting the design, delivery and lifecycle management of critical engineering systems. Working closely with the Project Manager and senior engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of technically challenging projects, coordinating with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. What you’ll be doing • Supporting the design and development of complex engineering systems • Producing and managing system specifications, architecture and interfaces • Providing technical oversight across hardware, software and electrical elements • Ensuring systems meet customer and regulatory requirements through verification and validation • Identifying and managing technical risks across project stages • Preparing technical reports and documentation • Supporting customers and internal teams with technical queries and system support • Managing and maintaining system requirements and traceability What we’re looking for • Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering or another STEM discipline (or equivalent experience) • Experience working within engineering projects, ideally in regulated or defence-related environments • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and engineering lifecycle management • Experience using AutoCAD or Inventor • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to undergo DBS and BPSS clearance and hold a UK or dual UK passport.
