SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School (ASC & Complex Needs) - Bolton
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing environment? We are looking for a caring, patient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a primary SEN school in Bolton, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs.
About the Role:
In this rewarding role, you will support pupils aged 4-11 with a range of needs including autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and complex learning challenges. Working closely with class teachers and specialist staff, you will play a key role in delivering personalised support that enables every child to engage, learn, and develop.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
Assist in delivering structured, engaging, and sensory-friendly learning activities
Support communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
Help manage behaviour positively and consistently, following individual support plans
Promote pupils' independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
Assist with personal care where required
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children with ASC and/or complex needs (highly desirable)
A calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Willingness to learn and engage in specialist training
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
