Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for a rewarding role in a supportive primary school?

We are recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive three-form entry primary school in Ashford, Staines. This is an excellent opportunity to support children aged 4 to 11 years, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), in a nurturing and well-structured learning environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning, behaviour, and development both in class and through targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide classroom support alongside the class teacher
Deliver 1:1 support for pupils with SEND
Support pupils within the school's alternative provision
Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation
Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and progress
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant who:

Has experience working with children or young people (school, nursery, or care setting)
Has experience supporting pupils with SEN / SEND (desirable)
Is patient, reliable, and proactive
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is passionate about supporting children's development
Is interested in a long-term role within education

Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Previous experience working with children (preferred)
Experience supporting SEND pupils (highly desirable)
