Teaching Assistant

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Inclusion Unit Location: Derby (DE21) Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, long-term Salary: £90–£105 per day Class Mate is working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the DE21 area of Derby seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within their specialist inclusion unit. The Role * Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs * Work within the school’s inclusion provision while supporting access to learning * Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in lessons * Follow EHCP targets, support strategies and behaviour plans * Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider support team The Ideal Candidate * Experience supporting pupils with SEN such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH * Calm, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils * Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs * Passionate about helping pupils develop confidence and independence Requirements * Previous experience working with children or young people * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) * Ability to provide two professional references Why Join Class Mate? * Competitive daily pay * Long-term opportunities in supportive primary schools * Dedicated consultant support * Opportunities for further placements across local schools If you’re a committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a child’s education, we’d love to hear from you
