We are currently recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry Catholic primary school in Colindale, Barnet. This is a term-time only opportunity starting ASAP, perfect for someone with previous school-based experience who is passionate about supporting children’s learning.
The school is Ofsted rated “Outstanding” and offers a supportive leadership team, strong behaviour policies, and a positive, community-focused environment.
Role Details
* Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
* Location: Colindale, Barnet
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm term time only
* Pay: £13 – £17 per hour (depending on experience)
* Start Date: ASAP
* Contract: School term time only
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils across the classroom, including 1:1 and small group work
* Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
* Supporting children with SEND, literacy, numeracy, and phonics
* Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
* Managing behaviour in line with the school’s policies
* Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development
* Assisting during transitions, break times, and school activities when required
Requirements
* Previous school-based experience (UK primary school experience preferred)
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
