Teaching Assistant
You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to help students overcome barriers to learning, manage behaviour effectively, and build positive relationships. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs in and out of the classroom
* Implement behaviour plans and strategies to promote positive conduct
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to help pupils stay engaged in learning
* De-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
* Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
* Monitor, record, and report behaviour concerns or progress
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
* Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage personal growth
Pre‑Requisites
* Experience working as a Behaviour TA, learning mentor, youth worker, or in a similar support role
* Strong behaviour‑management and de‑escalation skills
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Confident communication and relationship‑building skills
* Reliability, resilience, and the ability to work well within a team
