Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in supporting pupils’ learning, helping teachers deliver engaging lessons, and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teaching staff in delivering lessons across different age groups
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group learning support to pupils
* Help maintain a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment
* Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and activities
* Encourage pupils’ confidence, participation, and independence
* Follow behaviour‑management strategies in line with school policies
* Provide support for pupils with additional learning or SEN needs where required
* Supervise students during lessons, breaktimes, and transitions
* Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Pre‑Requisites
* Transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, organisation, or experience working with children or young people
* Previous TA or school experience is beneficial
* Willingness to learn, take direction, and support pupils of varying abilities
* A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
* Reliable, proactive, and able to adapt to different classroom environments
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students
