Teaching Assistant - Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Islington, North London
Salary: £1,900 - £2,300 per month
Start Date: Immediate / September
Contract: Permanent | Full-time

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development. Working alongside experienced teachers, you will provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, and support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to help them build confidence and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning across the classroom

Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions

Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons

Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupils' individual needs

Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

Essential:

GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach

A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

Desirable:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject
