Teaching Assistants Required Start Date: September 2026 Are you resilient, patient, and ready to take on a role where every day truly matters? We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in a secondary school supporting students with SEMH needs, trauma backgrounds, and ADHD. This is a demanding but highly rewarding role, suited to individuals who can remain calm under pressure and are committed to making a difference in the lives of young people who need it most. About the Role: This is not a typical classroom support role. You will be working with students who may: Display extreme behaviours, including verbal aggression, defiance, and occasional physical incidents Struggle with emotional regulation due to trauma and unmet needs Find it difficult to engage with education and authority Your role will be to provide consistent, calm, and structured support, helping students to feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn. Key Responsibilities: Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Managing and de-escalating challenging situations safely and effectively Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams Working off site, supporting with physical activities and outdoor education We Are Looking For Individuals Who: Have strong resilience and emotional intelligence Can remain calm in high-pressure and unpredictable situations Are confident setting boundaries while showing empathy and understanding Have experience with SEMH, trauma, ADHD, or challenging Are committed, reliable, and ready to learn What We Offer: A supportive and experienced team environment Ongoing training in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques A chance to have a genuine impact on students who need positive role models This role is challenging and requires dedication—but for the right person, it is incredibly rewarding.
