Job Title: Year 5 Teacher (QTS) – Primary (PRI) Location: West Midlands – B90 Position: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher (QTS) to join a supportive primary school team at Sharmans Cross Junior School, West Midlands (B90). The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, helping pupils to achieve their full potential across the curriculum and preparing them for the next stage of their education. You will work closely with colleagues to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and academic progress. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for Year 5 pupils across the curriculum Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development Monitor and assess pupils’ progress and provide timely feedback Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop teaching resources and strategies Support school initiatives, events, and extra-curricular activities Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally at Key Stage 2 Strong classroom management and organisational skills Ability to motivate and inspire pupils Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures Excellent communication and teamwork skills Desirable Experience with curriculum planning and assessment at Year 5 Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with additional learning needs Experience leading projects or initiatives within a school What We Offer Supportive and friendly working environment Opportunities for professional development and training Competitive salary based on experience The chance to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development Safeguarding Statement The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references in line with safer recruitment practices.
