Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting a confident and proactive Secondary Teaching Assistant with a strong academic and behaviour focus to join our partnership school in East London. This is an ongoing long-term opportunity starting as soon as possible. This is an ideal position for someone experienced in supporting students with their academic and behavioural needs. Where they can provide consistent guidance, structure and positive role modelling across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Responsibilities and Duties * Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support across KS3 and KS4. * Support students in lessons and during unstructured times. * Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies * Implementing agreed learning activities and teaching programmes. * Adjusting learning activities according to student responses and needs. * Implementing local and national learning strategies. * Supporting the use of ICT in learning activities and develop students’ competence and independence. * Work closely with SEN and pastoral teams. * Promote positive routines, resilience and engagement. * Support classroom teachers with maintaining a focused learning environment. Education, Qualifications and Knowledge * Excellent standard of general Education, GCSEs grades A* - C (including English and Mathematics) or equivalents * Experience supporting students with behavioural or SEMH needs * Confidence working in a secondary school or further education environment. * Calm, consistent and resilient approach. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies. * Background in mentoring, youth work, SEN or pastoral roles (desirable).
