Job Details (Teaching Assistant – SEN/SEMH)

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting in Leicestershire , near Market Bosworth.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a genuine difference on a daily basis. You’ll be working with pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and ASD, supporting them both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.

This isn’t a typical classroom role – it can be challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding. Progress may look different here, and even small steps forward can be a big achievement. The right person will be patient, resilient and able to build strong, positive relationships with students.

What you’ll be doing:

* Supporting students in lessons and on a 1:1 basis

* Assisting the teacher with classroom activities and behaviour management

* Helping students stay engaged and focused on their learning

* Supporting students’ social and emotional development

* Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment

What we’re looking for:

* A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Experience working with children or young people (school-based preferred but not essential)

* An interest in SEN, SEMH or supporting vulnerable learners

* Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
