Our Burnley-based Alternative Provision is looking for resilient, empathetic, and driven individuals to support students who find mainstream education challenging. The Role As a Teaching Assistant / Support Worker, you will work closely with small groups and on a 1-to-1 basis to help students re-engage with learning. Your day-to-day will involve: Mentoring & Support: Building strong, trusting relationships with students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Behavioural Support: Using de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment. Academic Assistance: Supporting the delivery of a tailored curriculum alongside lead teachers. Progress Tracking: Helping students hit their personal and educational milestones. What We Are Looking For Qualified Candidates: Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is a plus. Unqualified Candidates: We welcome applicants with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, care, or the military who possess the right "can-do" attitude. Local Knowledge: A commitment to supporting the youth community in the Burnley area. Resilience: The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviour with a smile.
