As Team Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving excellence in practice, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring adults with disabilities receive the right support at the right time to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

You will lead a dedicated team of Assistant Team Managers and Social Workers within the Adult Disabilities Service, supporting adults aged 18+ and young people preparing for adulthood.

The service adopts a strengths-based Three Conversations approach, focusing on understanding what a good life looks like for each person and working collaboratively to achieve this. Your leadership will help embed person-centred practice while ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and safeguarding remains at the heart of service delivery.

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will drive performance, champion innovation, and support the ongoing transformation of Adult Social Care across Wolverhampton.

Champion strengths-based, person-centred practice across the service.
Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Care Act and safeguarding legislation.
Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team focused on achieving positive outcomes.
Drive service improvement through quality assurance, performance management, and data-driven decision-making.
Manage operational performance, workload allocation, prioritisation, and service delivery.
Oversee complex casework, providing professional guidance and oversight where required.
Manage delegated budgets and ensure value for money in service provision.
Develop strong working relationships with health partners, police, housing, voluntary organisations, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and policy implementation.
Represent Adult Social Care within multi-agency forums and partnership meetings.
Deputise for the Service Manager when required.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Social Work manager who can inspire teams, drive improvement, and lead through change.

You will possess:

A recognised Social Work qualification.
Registration with Social Work England.
Significant management experience within Adult Social Care.
A strong track record of leading and developing social work teams.
Extensive knowledge of:

Experience of performance management, quality assurance, and service improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
The ability to analyse performance data and use insight to drive better outcomes.
A genuine passion for supporting adults with disabilities to live independent and fulfilling lives.

Why Join Wolverhampton?

This is an opportunity to be part of one of the most ambitious transformation programmes in Adult Social Care.

You will join a service that values innovation, professional leadership, and strengths-based practice, where managers are empowered to influence change and help shape the future of adult social care delivery.
