A great opportunity for an experienced Tekla Detailer to join a major UK structural steel fabrication business working on complex commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. You’ll take ownership of 3D modelling, detailing, coordination and drawing production across a wide range of steelwork packages. Role Responsibilities: * The creation & detailing of the 3D model in Tekla Structures including all appropriate checking * The preparation and checking of preliminary material lists and associated rolling and carcass drawings. * Application of connections in working models including completeness checking. * Preparation & checking of fabrication drawings on various types of projects. Including associated general arrangement drawings. * The compilation of ancillary items from the model for external purchase eg) Bolts, flooring etc * Liaison with client’s engineers, sub trades or other internal departments where necessary. * Interpretation and checking of sub trade drawings both manually and within the model environment eg) Flooring, decking, cladding etc. * The administration and co-ordination of smaller self-contained contracts. * The generation of technical queries to resolve outstanding information in the model. * Supervising and mentoring younger and less experienced members of the team. Requirements - About You: * Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level or equivalent with a detailed knowledge of the Steel Industry * Good understanding/application and experience of 10+ years in steelwork detailing using Tekla Structures. Including a working knowledge of BIM & digital co-ordination. * Ability to work consistently and accurately, to deadlines, to meet the demands of a manufacturing business * Excellent Engineering judgement. * Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving * Good communication skills both written & verbal. * Has the ability to work on multiple projects and liaising with a cross functional team * Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team * Has the ability to adapt to previously unseen challenges & new technologies Why Join? * Work on major UK structural steel projects. * Join a highly respected engineering team within a market‑leading steel fabrication group. * Opportunities for progression, development, and technical leadership. * A role where your engineering expertise directly shapes project success.
