Job Title: Testing & Inspection Engineer (Critical Environments)
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Testing & Inspection Engineer to join our team, working within critical environments. This role is ideal for a qualified electrical professional with a strong background in inspection, testing, and compliance, who thrives in high-specification and safety-critical settings.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out electrical inspection and testing in accordance with current regulations and standards

* Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) within critical environments

* Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and remedial works on electrical systems

* Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and all relevant health & safety legislation

* Work on a range of systems including LV distribution, control panels, and critical power systems

* Accurately complete certification and reports using digital or paper-based systems

* Liaise with clients, site managers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

* Identify and report defects, providing clear recommendations for remedial actions

* Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times

* Adhere to strict procedures and protocols required in critical environments

Requirements

* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar testing and inspection role

* Proven experience working in critical or high-compliance environments

* Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and inspection processes

* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

* Full UK driving licence (preferred/required depending on role)
