Town Planner
Town Planner Location: Chilton Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established planning and architectural consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Chilton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected, multi-disciplinary consultancy with decades of experience delivering high-quality planning and architectural services. The practice works across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong focus on high-end residential schemes alongside commercial, equestrian, and sporting developments across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire. The Role As a Town Planner, you will play a key role within a collaborative and supportive team, working on a variety of planning applications and development proposals while acting as a trusted point of contact for clients. This position offers the opportunity to take on real responsibility, guiding clients through the planning process, providing clear and practical advice, and supporting the continued growth of the practice. It is an ideal role for a motivated planner looking to develop their career within a welcoming consultancy environment. Key Responsibilities Providing planning advice to clients across a range of development proposals Preparing planning statements, reports, and supporting documentation Undertaking site appraisals, desktop assessments, and site visits Guiding clients through planning applications and development processes Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and project stakeholders Working alongside heritage specialists, barristers, and other consultants Representing the practice at Planning Committees, Hearings, and Public Meetings Keeping up to date with relevant planning policy and legislation Candidate Requirements RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline Chartered Member of the RTPI (or working towards chartership) Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard planning tools Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle What's on Offer Competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience Flexible working arrangements to support work/life balance Opportunity to work on a diverse range of planning projects Supportive and collaborative team environment Professional development and long-term career progression opportunities Generous holiday allowance and additional benefits after qualifying period Mileage reimbursement and pension scheme Interested in this opportunity?
