Trainee Estimator
About the Role
You'll be supporting the Senior Estimator on live estimates for electrical works, learning how to price and prepare accurate quotes for customer projects. Around three days a week will involve site visits to assess job requirements first-hand, giving you real exposure to the work you'll be pricing, while the remainder of your week will be based in the office refining estimates and specifications. Over your first 5–6 months, you'll build up your knowledge and confidence under direct mentorship until you're ready to manage your own estimates independently.
What We're Looking For
We're open to two types of candidates for this role: graduates with a relevant qualification who are keen to start a career in estimating, or candidates who have worked hands-on in the electrical trade and are looking to transition into an office-based estimating career. Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in how electrical projects are priced and delivered will set you up well for this role.
What You'll Get
Beyond a competitive salary of up to £38,000 plus £200 a month car allowance, you will also get structured, one-to-one training from an experienced Senior Estimator, real progression toward independent estimating responsibility, and the chance to build a career within a growing mechanical and electrical business.
Working hours: Monday - Friday 8.30 - 5pm
