Pay rate: £95–£110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are searching for a compassionate Trauma Informed Practitioner to work in schools across Dudley, supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and require specialist emotional and behavioural support.
In this role, you will use trauma-informed approaches to build trusting relationships, reduce barriers to learning, and help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive engagement with education.
About the role:
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leaders to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Your focus will be on creating consistency, safety, and meaningful relationships that support long-term progress.
Prime Responsibilities of Trauma Informed Practitioner:
Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils
Use trauma-informed strategies to support regulation and wellbeing
Build strong, consistent relationships with students
Support pupils in accessing learning and managing school expectations
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies
Contribute to personalised support plans and behaviour strategies
What we are looking for
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or trauma backgrounds
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice (training desirable)
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
